William McDonough Delivers Keynote at Global Sustainable Development Congress

Last month, McDonough Innovation Chief Executive William McDonough attended the Global Sustainable Development Congress (GSD Congress) hosted by King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and convened by Times Higher Education in Thuwal, Saudi Arabia. The gathering addressed the ‘sustainability crises of our time,’ and explored the ways in which higher education can influence communities and create more impactful solutions to address the climate emergency. The conference was made up of over 180 speakers joined by 1,600 attendees both in-person and online from 70 countries.

McDonough delivered a keynote presentation alongside Nadine Zidani, founder of Sustainable Change-Makers Academy, titled “The Sustainability Crises of Our Time: A Business Perspective.” The presentation tackled the pressing sustainability challenges we face today with a business approach in addition to innovative approaches and design frameworks while carefully examining the obstacles and identifying potential solutions.

McDonough is a Distinguished Research Professor at KAUST and collaborates with other researchers focused on the Circular Carbon Economy.
